In June 2019, Synaptec partnered with ORE Catapult to install its Refase distributed, passive sensing technology at the 7MW Levenmouth Demonstration Turbine in Fife for a year-long trial, using multiple sensor locations on the project’s cables to monitor performance and develop automated fault detection and prognostics aimed at reducing subsea cable failure costs.
