Description
Pondera Consult, a subsidiary of Haskoning, is supporting the strategic cable and network configuration study for the ELWIND hybrid offshore project between Estonia and Latvia. Working alongside Haskoning, Pondera contributes to assessing potential grid connection points in both countries, evaluating transmission network capacity, and developing technically feasible export and interconnection cable routing options for the offshore wind areas. The joint team is also reviewing spatial and regulatory constraints that affect subsea cable corridors. The study will inform the definition of preferred cable routes and grid connection concepts and will feed into later design stages and the project’s Environmental Impact Assessment. Pondera previously co-authored the project’s pre-feasibility study in 2021, giving it continuity in ELWIND’s early-stage electrical and cable planning.
