Cable Route Engineering

As part of the LaSGo initial implementation studies commissioned by AST and carried out by CESI, preliminary HVDC cable routing options for the Latvia–Gotland–Sweden interconnector were defined via a desktop study, identifying three alternative routes between Ventspils (LV), Gotland landfalls (Slite or Visby), and Swedish connection points (Oskarshamn, Kimstad or Glan), with total lengths of 300–450 km to support cost estimation and technical planning. These routing studies were documented in the executive summary published on 4 February 2025, marking completion of this phase of cable route engineering.
