LanWin7 (NOR-12-4) 2,000 MW ±525 kV HVDC offshore grid connection export cable, total route length ~320–340 km (database: 342 km).
TenneT selected NKT under its multi‑year 2 GW programme framework to deliver the high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system for the LanWin7 offshore grid connection in the German North Sea. For LanWin7, which has an approximate route length of 320 km and uses 525 kV XLPE HVDC technology, NKT will provide a complete on‑ and offshore power cable system. The scope, to be called off around 2026–2027, covers cable system design and engineering, manufacturing of the HVDC cables, and both offshore and onshore installation services. The LanWin7 link will connect designated offshore wind areas to the planned NordHub multi‑terminal DC/AC hub near Pöschendorf in Schleswig‑Holstein, enabling the transport of up to 2 GW of offshore wind power into the German onshore transmission grid. The overall framework award, shared with the NordOstLink project, was announced in December 2024, with commissioning for the projects targeted for 2033–2034.
