LanWin6 2,000 MW ±525 kV HVDC offshore grid connection (NEP NOR‑12‑3, formerly NOR‑13‑2), export cable system of approx. 308 km route length (about 255 km subsea, 10 km onshore) with multiple core cables supplied by NKT.
50Hertz awarded NKT a major multi-project EPCI framework order covering several 525 kV HVDC cable systems, including the LanWin 6 offshore grid connection in the German North Sea. Under this agreement, NKT will design, manufacture, supply and install the LanWin 6 525 kV XLPE HVDC export cable system, providing approximately 900 km of core cables (including DC conductors and metallic return) to connect 2 GW of offshore wind capacity from the N-12.x area to the onshore grid hub near Pöschendorf in Schleswig-Holstein. The work spans subsea and land sections and forms part of 50Hertz’s long-term grid expansion programme targeting commissioning in the mid‑2030s. The total value of NKT’s five-project package is about EUR 3.5 billion, but the share attributable specifically to LanWin 6 is not disclosed.
