On 22 May 2025, 50Hertz Transmission GmbH published an EU contract notice for the procurement of the 2 GW Offshore and Onshore Converter System "North Sea Connector 2" (NSC2), initiating the tender process for a complete converter system. NSC2, which must be ready for trial operation by March 2034, comprises the LanWin6 offshore grid connection (NOR-12-3) and the DC32 onshore link, connecting offshore wind sites N‑12.4 and N‑12.5 via an offshore converter station and DC sea and land cables to the planned four‑terminal NordHub at Pöschendorf.
