DELAYED +3yr (Apr 2026): Original internal projection assumed export cable installation for LanWin4 could start around 2027. However, subsequent contracting and scheduling information points to a later window. Asso.subsea states that its installation and burial campaigns for BalWin3, LanWin2 and LanWin4 will run between 2027 and 2031. More specifically, Enshore Subsea, which will install the Wadden Sea sections for the BalWin3, LanWin2 and LanWin4 links under Nexans’ framework, reports that these nearshore sections are scheduled for 2027, 2029 and 2030 respectively. The most natural reading is that LanWin4’s Wadden Sea works are planned for 2030. Given this and TenneT’s 2031 commissioning target for LanWin4, a project‑specific cable installation start in 2030 is more realistic than 2027, so the milestone is delayed to 2030 (year‑level precision). --- Asso.subsea has been awarded major subsea cable installation and protection contracts by Nexans for TenneT’s 2 GW transmission projects BalWin3, LanWin2 and LanWin4 in the German North Sea, with offshore and nearshore cable burial and laying campaigns for LanWin4 scheduled to begin in 2027. The scope includes installation and burial of part of more than 650 km of offshore cable and over 60 km of nearshore sections using the cable‑laying vessel Atalanti and associated trenching tools.
