In 2016, LEF NET A/S began installation of a new six‑kilometre subsea cable between Langeland and Strynø after administrative steps and necessary approvals were completed and Langelands Museum had surveyed the seabed without finding any obstacles. The cable was laid mainly directly on the seabed to restore two-sided electricity supply and improve security of supply to Strynø following damage to the previous connection.

In 2016, LEF Net A/S commenced construction works for a new subsea power cable between Langeland and Strynø, beginning cable laying on the seabed after completing administrative preparations, securing approvals, and an archaeological seabed investigation by Langelands Museum, to restore a two-sided electricity supply to Strynø.

In 2016, LEF NET A/S installed a new approximately six‑kilometre subsea cable to Strynø after damage had left the island with only a single remaining electrical connection. Following completion of administrative steps, approvals, and a seabed investigation by Langelands Museum, the new cable was laid mostly directly on the seabed, restoring the desired two-sided power supply to Strynø and thereby re‑establishing the targeted level of supply security.

Authority: Energistyrelsen (Danish Energy Agency) · Licence: Approval of cable routing for new submarine power cable between Langeland and Strynø
Langelands Elforsyning obtained approval from the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) for the routing of a new submarine power cable from the wastewater treatment plant at Kragholm to Strynø, comprising 4.7 km of subsea cable and 1 km of onshore cable. This consent for the cable route was a prerequisite for starting the replacement of the defective 40‑year‑old Siø–Strynø cable, after which Langelands Museum was required to inspect the seabed for underwater archaeological remains before installation could begin.
