According to project information published by LTMR, the Kulizumboo Interconnector has an accepted grid connection at 400 kV to the Canterbury North substation, with a scheduled connection date in April 2031. This confirms that the project has secured a formal grid connection agreement for its planned 700 MW HVDC link between Great Britain and France.
By 2025, the Kulizumboo Interconnector developer reports that land has been secured for the planned HVDC converter station near National Grid’s 400 kV substation at Richborough and that the onshore and offshore cable routing has already been surveyed, indicating completion of initial route investigation surveys for the 700 MW GB–France interconnector.
