Krk–Cres 110 kV HVAC submarine cable between Mali Bok (Krk) and Merag (Cres), part of HOPS’ mainland–Krk–Cres–Lošinj 110 kV reinforcement.
Končar acted as the main contractor to HOPS for a project to replace four 110 kV island cable systems in Croatia, including the Krk–Cres 110 kV HVAC submarine link between Mali Bok and Merag. Within this role Končar engaged Asso.subsea to perform the transportation and offshore installation of the new submarine cables and associated onshore pull-in works. The overall program replaced ageing cables on the Krk–Cres–Lošinj chain and on separate southern Adriatic routes, using new 110 kV cable systems with 630 mm² submarine cables over a combined length of around 30.5 km. Končar’s contract therefore covered delivery and coordination of the cable replacement works for HOPS, with Asso.subsea executing the specialist marine installation scope.
