Manufacturer of conductor/cable ABB for the Konti–Skan HVDC interconnector (250 MW Kontiskan 1, 300 MW Kontiskan 2), a submarine HVDC power line of about 149–150 km between Vester Hassing (Denmark) and Lindome (Sweden).
ABB manufactured the high-voltage conductors and submarine power cables for the Konti–Skan HVDC interconnector, including the 300 MW Konti-Skan 2 pole commissioned in 1988 between Vester Hassing in Denmark and Lindome in Sweden. The link uses mass-impregnated copper cables along a route of about 150 km, of which roughly 89 km are subsea and 61 km are on land. ABB’s scope covered production and supply of the HVDC cable system that underpins power exchange between the Danish and Swedish grids. This work formed part of the original construction phase of Konti-Skan 2.
