Konti–Skan HVDC link between Denmark and Sweden; total length 149 km; manufacturer of conductor/cable ABB.
ABB manufactured the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) conductor and cable system for the original Konti-Skan 1 interconnector between Denmark and Sweden. The link, commissioned in 1965, uses a single HVDC pole between Vester Hassing in Jutland and the Swedish converter stations, with a total transmission route of about 150 km combining submarine and land cable sections. As the named manufacturer of the conductor and cable for the Konti–Skan scheme, ABB supplied the complete HVDC cable system for Pole 1, enabling 250 MW power transfer at high voltage across the Kattegat. This role covered factory production and delivery of the mass‑impregnated HVDC cables that form the backbone of the Konti-Skan 1 link.
