JD-Contractor A/S performed jetting and post seabed processing on 2 new 600 MW, 400 kV mass impregnated cables between Denmark and Germany ("New Kontek Cable") in Storstrømmen and the Baltic Sea under a 2010 contract for Energinet.dk.
Energinet.dk awarded JD-Contractor A/S a subsea works contract for post‑burial and seabed processing of the new Kontek submarine cables following their installation by Nexans Norway. Between July and November 2010, JD-Contractor performed jetting and post‑lay trenching on the two 600 MW, 400 kV mass‑impregnated HVDC cables along soft‑sediment sections of the route in Storstrømmen and the Baltic Sea, and carried out additional treatment of the cables in pre‑excavated trenches. This construction‑phase scope improved burial depth and long‑term protection of the Kontek subsea interconnector.
