The 2018 YEKA offshore wind auction for 1.2 GW, which included the Kıyıköy zone alongside Saros and Gelibolu, closed on 23 October 2018 without receiving any bids, so no power purchase agreement or tariff support was awarded for the Kıyıköy offshore wind area. As a result, the zone failed to secure the planned YEKA revenue mechanism and the tender was effectively cancelled for all three candidate regions.
