On 21 June 2018, Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources formally launched a YEKA tender for a 1,200 MW offshore wind project, issuing an official procurement notice in the Official Gazette and opening the application window until 23 October 2018. The tender, structured as a reverse auction with a defined ceiling tariff and bid and performance bond requirements, covered candidate regions including Saros, Gallipoli and the Kıyıköy area on the Black Sea coast, making it Turkey’s first planned offshore wind scheme and directly encompassing the Kıyıköy offshore wind zone.
