Vattenfall initiated a transboundary public consultation under the Espoo Convention for the Kattegatt Syd offshore wind project, including its export and underground cable corridors to the Swedish transmission grid. The consultation documentation, published on 22 February 2021, describes the planned 1,200 MW wind farm area in the Kattegat Sea, the export cable corridor running north towards Väröbacka in Varberg municipality, and associated landfall and onshore cable routes, and invites potentially affected neighbouring countries to submit comments on the project’s expected transboundary environmental impacts over its full lifecycle.
