In August 2022, RWE commissioned the first Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD Flex turbine at its 342 MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm, located about 35 kilometres north of Heligoland, and this turbine – equipped with recyclable blades – began supplying green electricity to the grid, marking first power for the project.
