On 3 April 2020, innogy SE (now part of RWE) reached Final Investment Decision for the 342 MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm, having signed contracts for all major components including 38 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD Flex turbines, monopile foundations, the offshore transformer substation, and inter-array cabling. RWE later reported that total investment costs for Kaskasi amounted to around EUR 800 million, enabling full-scale construction of the project 35 kilometres north of Heligoland.
