Equinor awarded Aibel an EPC contract to build phase 2 of the Johan Sverdrup onshore power plant at Haugsneset east of Kårstø, covering all construction work for the new converter station and associated infrastructure. This phase 2 plant doubles the converter capacity compared with phase 1 and secures shore-based power for the further development of Johan Sverdrup and the wider Utsira High area solution, enabling electrification of nearby fields such as Edvard Grieg, Ivar Aasen and Gina Krog.
