As part of the phase 2 power-from-shore solution, Equinor and the Johan Sverdrup partnership awarded Siemens a contract to supply the HVDC transformer and converter equipment for both the second processing platform (P2) offshore and the onshore converter station at Haugsneset. This package is one of three major shore-power contracts for Johan Sverdrup phase 2 and provides the core electrical conversion hardware needed to transmit power from the mainland grid to the field and onward to other Utsira High installations.
