Description
For the second phase of the Johan Sverdrup power-from-shore development, Siemens was contracted by Equinor to supply the HVDC electrical equipment for the converter stations both onshore at Haugsneset and on the Johan Sverdrup field centre. Siemens delivered the converter components, including HVDC power electronics and associated equipment, while Aibel handled the station construction and installation. This Phase II equipment doubled the onshore converter capacity and enabled the 300 MW area solution supplying Johan Sverdrup and other Utsira High fields from shore.
