Description
NKT supplied the subsea power cable linking the Ivar Aasen platform into the Utsira High power-from-shore area solution. As part of its turnkey AC/DC cable systems for Utsira High, NKT designed, manufactured and installed an approximately 10 km, 110 kV HVAC submarine cable dedicated to the electrification of Ivar Aasen, enabling the field to receive low‑emission power from the Norwegian onshore grid via the Johan Sverdrup hub. The work formed part of a broader 2011–2022 campaign in which NKT delivered multiple high‑voltage DC export cables and AC branch cables to Utsira High platforms, including Edvard Grieg, Gina Krog, Gudrun, Ivar Aasen and Sleipner.
