Description

In November 2014, Statoil (now Equinor) submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Johan Sverdrup field, which examined options for a regional power-from-shore solution using high-voltage direct current (HVDC) rather than AC. This EIA underpinned later plans to electrify the Utsira High area, including supplying shore power to the Ivar Aasen field via the Johan Sverdrup hub.
