Pirelli General was selected as the manufacturer of the 33 kV submarine cable linking Whitesands Bay on the Land’s End peninsula with St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly, a 55 km, 1,300-tonne cable comprising three 70 sq.mm copper cores with EPR insulation and steel wire armouring for the mainland connection project.
