Heerema Marine Contractors used the semi-submersible crane vessel Sleipnir to install Inch Cape's offshore substation jacket foundation and the Siemens Energy Offshore Transformer Module topside in a single offshore campaign in August 2025. Sleipnir is one of the largest crane vessels in the world, and Heerema's scope covered positioning the Smulders-built jacket onto its pre-installed seabed location and lifting the topside into place during the same offshore mobilisation. The work followed load-out and sail-away from the Smulders fabrication yard at Wallsend near Newcastle, and represented the central offshore-electrical milestone of Inch Cape's 2025 construction season, transitioning the project from preparatory and fabrication phases into full electrical-infrastructure build-out at the wind farm site 15 km off the Angus coast.
