Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm completed a dedicated unexploded ordnance (UXO) disposal campaign as part of its offshore pre-construction activities ahead of major installation works. The project’s construction update explains that, prior to installing both the offshore substation and the first export cable, Inch Cape “undertook comprehensive pre-construction surveys along with a now-completed unexploded ordnance disposal campaign.” This places the UXO activities squarely within the wider pre-construction survey programme designed to prepare the offshore site and export cable route for subsequent installation phases. The same construction overview notes that the Siemens Energy Offshore Transformer Module topside and jacket foundation were installed in August 2025, and that the first export cable arrived in the UK in June 2025 before being installed in three sections during summer and autumn 2025. Because the UXO disposal work is explicitly described as “now-completed” and as having taken place prior to these 2025 installation milestones, the completion of the UXO campaign can be dated to no later than 2025. In contrast, associated boulder clearance is described as ongoing for the remainder of the offshore site, underscoring that the UXO element of the pre-construction package has reached a distinct and completed milestone while other seabed preparation tasks continue to progress in parallel with the wider construction programme.
