DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): NextGeo’s July 2025 contracts for IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 state that export cable route geophysical and UXO surveys will run between 2026 and 2027, implying bulk export cable installation will follow in roughly 2027 rather than starting in early 2025 as originally assumed. --- For the IJmuiden Ver Alpha grid connection, DEME is scheduled from 2025 to start installing Prysmian’s 525 kV HVDC export cable system, comprising an approximately 126 km offshore section and 12 km of cable within the Veerse Meer, as well as related landfall works, using cable-lay vessels and support vessels to install and bury an export bundle of two HVDC poles, one metallic return and a fibre-optic cable linking the offshore substation to the Borssele onshore grid station.
