The European Commission confirmed IFA2 on the Union list of Projects of Common Interest by Commission Delegated Regulation (published January 2016), formally listing the France–United Kingdom Tourbe–Chilling interconnection as PCI 1.7.2 in the NSOG priority corridor on 27 January 2016. The listing recognised the project's cross‑border significance and made it eligible for PCI rights and accelerated permitting and funding measures under Regulation (EU) No 347/2013.
