ENTSO-E documentation recorded that IFA2 was selected as a Project of Common Interest (PCI) in the Northern Seas Offshore Grid (NSOG) corridor, labelled 1.7.2, on 14 October 2013. The selection identified the France–Great Britain Tourbe–Chilling HVDC subsea interconnector as a cross‑border electricity priority project and promoted it within EU PCI processes to facilitate permitting, funding and streamlined cooperation between national authorities.
