A programme of geophysical cable-route survey works for the IFA2 interconnector was active in the eastern Solent and was reported in a Port of Southampton Notice to Mariners on 14 December 2017. The notice confirmed ongoing underwater survey operations (including towed submersibles and ROVs) along the IFA2 cable route and named the survey vessels IEVOLI COBALT and SOLENT GUARDIAN. Mariners were warned that both vessels would be restricted in ability to manoeuvre while conducting underwater operations and to maintain VHF watch during the works.
