Prysmian Group began mobilisation for the IFA2 cable-laying campaign when the cable-laying vessel Cable Enterprise arrived at Prysmian’s Pikkala factory to load the first batch of ±320 kV HVDC submarine cables. Over a c.10-day period the vessel was loaded with more than 100 km of cable for the IFA2 subsea run; Prysmian had been awarded the EPC contract to supply and install the land and submarine cables for the project. This mobilisation prepared the vessel to depart for the English Channel cable-lay campaign that commenced shortly afterwards.
