By 30 January 2023 Red Eléctrica had completed the enlargement of the existing 132 kV Torrent GIS substation in Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza, creating the Ibiza connection point for the new Ibiza–Formentera 132 kV submarine link and reinforcing the island’s transmission grid, with subsequent works focusing on completing the rest of the interconnection.
