By 9 June 2023 Red Eléctrica had completed construction of the new Ibiza–Formentera inter-island electricity link in a record 21 months, including the expansion of the 132 kV Torrent substation on Ibiza, construction of a new 132 kV substation on Formentera, 5.2 km and 4.8 km of underground land cables on each island, and a 27.1 km subsea cable section.
