Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd was contracted by E.ON to design and fabricate the offshore substation jacket foundation and associated module support frame (MSF) for the Humber Gateway transmission assets. The scope covered detailed engineering of the steel jacket and piles and their fabrication, totalling around 1,600 tonnes of steelwork, to support the offshore HVAC substation platform in approximately 15 m water depth in the North Sea. Harland and Wolff delivered the completed jacket structure ready for offshore installation in Q3 2014, providing the primary structural support for the Humber Gateway OFTO offshore substation.
