An extensive environmental and ornithological baseline survey programme for the Humber Gateway project began in September 2003, with aerial and boat-based bird surveys undertaken on and around the offshore site and along the planned subsea cable route areas as part of the environmental impact assessment work for the wind farm and its transmission assets.
