In 2009, a further planning application was submitted specifically for the onshore substations and cable spur associated with the Humber Gateway project, providing the grid connection infrastructure that would later be included in the Humber Gateway OFTO transmission asset package. This application sought consent for the substation works and connecting infrastructure needed to feed power into the national transmission system.
