~280 km of 66 kV inter-array submarine cables; design, manufacture, supply, termination and testing
Prysmian Group was awarded a contract by Ørsted Wind Power A/S to deliver the inter-array submarine cable system for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea. Prysmian’s scope covered design, manufacture, supply, termination, and testing of approximately 280 km of 66 kV inter-array cables (around 50% of the wind farm’s inter-array cable requirement) connecting the wind turbines to the offshore converter station. Submarine cable cores were to be produced in Montereau and Gron (France) with armouring and assembly in Nordenham (Germany), with deliveries planned for 2026.
