Jan De Nul Group was contracted by Ørsted to carry out seabed preparation and the transport, installation, and protection of the Hornsea 3 HVDC export cable system connecting the offshore wind farm to the UK electricity grid. The scope includes pre-installation seabed works and cable protection measures, with cable-laying vessels Isaac Newton and Connector planned for transport and installation and the rock-installation vessel Simon Stevin planned to place rock for cable protection. Offshore installation activities were planned to start in 2025 and finish by 2027.
