From mid-December 2025, Ørsted initiated major offshore site preparation for Hornsea 3, including scour protection installation at turbine foundation locations using DEME’s rock installation vessel Flintstone, cable pre-lay operations on the export cable route by Jan De Nul’s Pedro Alvares Cabral, and planned boulder and debris relocation along inter-array cable routes and foundation positions. By April 2026, offshore preparation had advanced further with boulder clearance completed or ongoing, UXO clearance finished, demarcation buoys installed, and scour protection continuing as part of the build-up to full offshore construction.
