On 12 December 2024, Ørsted announced multi-million-pound contracts for Hornsea 3 to UK and European suppliers, awarding Severfield (working with Hutchinson Engineering) and Smulders the fabrication and assembly of a large proportion of secondary structures for turbine foundations—including suspended internal platforms, boat landings and anode cages—and awarding JDR Cable Systems the scope to prepare, test and terminate array cables between turbines and offshore converter stations, ensuring the array cabling is fully integrated into the offshore electrical infrastructure.
