Description
Hitachi Energy signed a contract with Ørsted to provide the HVDC Light® transmission technology for the Hornsea 3 grid connection. Hitachi Energy’s scope included supplying two HVDC Light converter systems and a total of four HVDC converter stations: two converter stations to be installed on the offshore converter platforms and two converter stations at the mainland grid connections, converting AC to DC for subsea transmission and reconverting DC to AC for integration into the onshore grid.
