By 31 March 2026 Heerema Marine Contractors had completed installation of both the jacket and the topside of the first Hornsea 3 HVDC offshore converter station (OCS1, Link 01), with Heerema Marine Contractors confirming via social media on the same day that the first of the two Hornsea 3 offshore converter stations was fully in place. Installation was performed by SSCV Sleipnir following the jacket installation that began on 19 March 2026. The OCS1 topside, which carries Hitachi Energy's HVDC Light converter equipment, was constructed at Aibel's yard in Thailand and arrived in Norway in June 2025 for final outfitting and commissioning before sailaway. The second platform, OCS2, will follow later in 2026 — its topside arrived in Norway from Thailand in October 2025 and the matching jacket is scheduled for completion at Heerema Fabrication Group in August 2026. With OCS1 jacket-and-topside installation complete, the project transitions toward inter-platform cable installation and HVDC commissioning works ahead of first power.
