Description
Seaway 7 (a Subsea 7 unit) won a contract from Ørsted to install the inter-array (inner array grid) cable system at the Hornsea Project Two offshore wind farm in the UK. The scope included submarine cable installation works as well as a pre-installation submarine cable route survey, pre-installation boulder clearance activities, and post-lay trenching services. The inter-array grid cable system was described as consisting of 165 66 kV copper-core submarine composite cables with a total length of more than 420 km, with engineering to commence immediately and offshore activities planned to start in 2021.
