Diamond Transmission Partners (a consortium comprising Mitsubishi Corporation and HICL Infrastructure plc) was selected by Ofgem as the preferred bidder under the UK OFTO regime to own and operate the high-voltage offshore transmission connection serving Hornsea 2 for 24 years. The associated transmission assets connect the wind farm to National Grid’s electricity transmission network at Killingholme, with an initial estimated transfer value of £1.189 billion, subject to Ofgem’s cost assessment and final licence grant process.
