Ørsted made the Final Investment Decision on Hornsea Project 2 on 11 September 2017, the same day that UK Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 2 results were announced. With Hornsea 2 confirmed as a successful AR2 bidder at a strike price of £57.50/MWh, Ørsted released its FID announcement on the same day, committing the 1.4 GW project to construction.
