Foundation installation at Hornsea Project One commenced in January 2018, with A2SEA (now CADELER) installing the first of 174 monopile foundations manufactured by EEW SPC. The campaign ran through 2018 in the southern North Sea ~120 km off the Yorkshire coast, ahead of turbine installation (Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154) and first power in February 2019. Three offshore substations and one reactive compensation station were installed in parallel.
