ABB A/S was selected for the supply and installation of six 220/34 kV, 240 MVA offshore transformers for the HOW01 offshore substations, with a contract covering design, fabrication, testing, transport, installation and commissioning. The agreement, signed before final investment decision, provides the main step-up transformers that collect turbine power at 34 kV and export it at 220 kV as part of the Hornsea 1 OFTO transmission assets.
