Umeå Energi Elnät announced that in week 22 of 2020 it would begin replacing approximately 2,000 m of subsea 12 kV cable and about 900 m of onshore cable between Holmön and Stora Fjäderägg, along with installing a new transformer station on Stora Fjäderägg, with the works expected to be completed within 2–3 weeks to secure the island’s electricity supply.
