supply of two 65-kilometre-long 220kV export cables for Hollandse Kust West Beta
TenneT awarded a consortium of Boskalis and Orient Cable (NBO) the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) export cable contract on 23 March 2022. Within this consortium, Orient Cable (NBO) is responsible for the design and manufacture of the high-voltage cable system for the 700 MW Hollandse Kust West Beta grid connection. The scope covers two 220 kV AC export cables, each approximately 65 kilometres in length, transmitting power from the offshore Beta platform to landfall near the existing high-voltage substation at Wijk aan Zee. This corresponds to about 130 kilometres of subsea export cable supplied. The work forms part of TenneT’s standardized 700 MW offshore grid connection programme in the Dutch North Sea and supports the connection of the Hollandse Kust West VII / OranjeWind wind farm to the onshore transmission grid.
