Description
On 23 March 2022, TenneT awarded a consortium led by Boskalis, with Orient Cables (NBO) as cable partner, the Hollandse Kust West Beta export cable contract, which also covers the interconnection between the Hollandse Kust West Alpha and Beta platforms. Under this contract Orient Cables (NBO) designs and supplies the high-voltage cable system, including a 9 km 66 kV AC interconnector cable linking the HKW Alpha and HKW Beta offshore substations. This inter-platform cable enhances operational flexibility between the two 700 MW grid connections. Boskalis undertakes installation and associated marine works, while Orient Cables focuses on the engineering and manufacture of the subsea power cable for this construction-phase scope.
